    The Value of "Time Off Task"

    Young Children's Spontaneous Talk and Deliberate Text

    The spontaneous, unsanctioned talk of primary students is analyzed with respect to its usefulness. It is argued that this talk supported the intellectual development of the students as beginning writers.
